Hypnosis is a natural state of deep relaxation in which the subconscious mind is extraordinarily receptive to positive thoughts and suggestions. Through hypnosis, behavior can be modified to benefit you by replacing the old beliefs or behaviors that no longer serve you with new positive ones desired to help achieve your goals.
In hypnosis, you are fully aware of your surroundings and can reject any suggestion(s) that go against your morals or ethical principles. It's important to consult with a qualified and experienced hypnotherapist, such as myself, when seeking to use hypnosis for specific issues or goals.
Stage show hypnosis is exactly that, a show for entertainment. Hypnotherapy is the utilization of hypnosis in a therapeutic setting. You will never be asked to bark like a dog or cluck like a chicken unless that is something you want to become better at. As your Hypnotherapist, I take the healing journey very seriously and I genuinely care about you and your well-being.
It's simple....because it works and I'm proof of that! By harnessing the power of your own subconscious mind, Hypnotherapy is often quick and effective in resolving personal issues in many different areas! With hypnotherapy, you can effectively replace limiting beliefs, negative self-talk and self-sabotage with positive attitudes and actions that promote growth and success. Hypnotherapy helps you focus in order to direct and maximize your own inner power. It’s an effective and relaxing choice for change. Together we change the behavior not the person.
Yes you can!!! Since hypnosis is simply a natural process, everyone can be hypnotized. Each of us naturally enters hypnosis several times a day. Some examples would be while watching TV, becoming stressed out, or even while driving from point A to point B and not remembering how you got there. It is a myth that some people cannot be hypnotized; everyone has the capacity to relax, to learn and to imagine. Of course, mood altering drugs, alcohol, or energy drinks can affect your mind’s ability to follow directions, relax or experience hypnosis. For this reason, you should never use any mood-altering drugs, drink alcohol or energy drinks prior to any hypnosis session, and you should report any medications you are currently taking to me as your hypnotherapist.
Absolutely not!! All hypnosis is actually self-hypnosis; a hypnotherapist merely guides you into your own experience of relaxation. A good analogy is that of the hypnotherapist sitting in the passenger seat of a car, reading map directions to the driver (the client). The driver can listen and follow the suggestions given by the passenger, or they can choose to go their own way, because the driver is always in control. Those who fear that the hypnotherapist has some kind of “magical” power or “mind control” ability simply do not understand how the mind works. These concepts are myths, not realities, in clinical hypnotherapy. The client is always in control! As your Hypnotherapist my mantra is "I do no harm".
It is impossible to get stuck in the state of hypnosis. All trances end, whether formally ended by the Hypnotherapist or ended naturally by you. There is time distortion in hypnosis though verses the "waking state" which means 10 minutes in the "waking state" can seem like an hour in hypnosis. As your hypnotherapist, I will always count you out before ending a session with you.
It depends on the state the Hypnotherapist is practicing out of. Arizona does not have regulated requirements which means someone can take a weekend online course with no live instructor and earn a certificate. I took a 300-hour class that certified me as an NLP Master Practitioner and Hypnotherapist. I furthered my education and enrolled at a Nationally Accredited College which is recognized by the U.S Department of Education. I completed 720-hours of clinical application of Hypnotherapy and I'm a Certified Specialist in many areas. I am Certified with the American Board of Hypnotherapy and the American Hypnosis Association. As your Hypnotherapist, I wanted to ensure I received the very best education and training for you!
There are many misconceptions around Hypnosis in this area. Hypnosis is a totally natural state; it is safe, effective and has no side effects. We have a natural ability to use our mind to create healthy bodies and make healthy decisions. If we don't have a healthy mind, it has been proven that we cause our body dis-ease. I can think of no religion that does not want us to use natural, safe, and effective methods of problem resolution to make our lives better. Some people, who do not truly understand the nature of clinical hypnosis, are opposed to “opening the mind” or “turning the mind” over to outside forces. In hypnosis, you are always fully aware and never are you “‘controlled” by another. These beliefs come from a misunderstanding and lack of knowledge of how the mind works. At Healing Hands By Christian, I do not offer entertainment, help people recover repressed memories, use a pendulum or watch, or any other non-clinical application of hypnosis not accepted by the medical and clinical community. I provide structured suggestions and the tools necessary to help you live life to its fullest. I simply use the natural functions of concentration, relaxation, and the natural abilities of our subconscious mind to resolve difficulties that have caused challenges in your life. This is something I think any healthy religion would actually encourage people to do.
Hypnotherapy is a powerful tool that can bring about deep and lasting changes in your relationships by addressing the subconscious mind, where many of your thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors originate.
